With voluptuous surroundings and flowing red carpet, Perth’s Onyx Bar is surprisingly located on the ground floor of an office building. However, with a ‘dress to impress’ door policy and a lavish room, Onyx Bar attracts a well-heeled, up market and dressy crowd. The atmosphere is very plush with black and white furniture, a famous water feature, Grecian statues and a group of rectangular sectioned white columns that act as a divider near the white tiled bar.

Behind these columns is the Onyx Bar VIP Lounge which has recently been renovated with new bathroom facilities, furniture and decor. We’re talking designer-chic and lots of class so it was no surprise the owners of the venue opted for Nexo speakers in this refurbished area.

The rest of the venue utilises another brand of speaker but the owners were not content with the quality of sound reproduced by them and thus searched for an improved option in the VIP Lounge.

The VIP area of Onxy Bar in WA presents a lavish interior
“They wanted a better quality system in the VIP Lounge and so I recommended the Nexo PS8 speaker,” explained George Nikoloudis, Group Technologies’ Western Australia representative. “Once they heard the PS8 in action it was pretty much instant approval. At the moment we’ve installed two PS8 speakers plus a controller, using their existing amplifiers, but the client is so happy with the result they’ve decided to double the install, as well as adding a sub-woofer. The PS8 is also aesthetically ideal as they are small and unobtrusive and we’re building the sub-woofer into the main couch.” In fact the Onyx Bar is so impressed by the Nexo speakers the decision has been made to change the entire venue over to the Nexo brand in the near future.
