Tasmania’s Hotel New York opened its doors in Launceston bringing with it some of the cosmopolitan stylings of the U.S to the locals. The venue is home to regular live bands, club nights and private functions; so popular in fact that in took out the Best Entertainment Venue award in the state recently.

Jamie Howell and his team at the Sound Company completed the install of Hotel New York which required renovating the main stage as well as installing a sound system that would do the venue justice.
A Nexo Alpha E system was installed along with PS10’s for delay fills and centre speakers as Jamie recalls. “The aim was to get even coverage throughout the venue which we achieved.” The front bar section of the venue was fitted with 4 x PS10’s and an RS Sub. “The venue sounds great”, Jamie notes. “The owners are very happy with it”.
Across the road from Hotel New York is the Manhattan wine bar, also owned by the same folks. The Manhattan Bar had the Sound Company complete their install also fitting the venue with Quest QS-350i’s driven by a QA-3004 amplifier. A QM-212 sub was also utilised. Throughout the venue Quest MS 801’s were installed and time aligned into six zones which has really made the coverage exceptionally smooth throughout the venue with no audible delay.
