The Docklands exclusive Peninsula Room was recently home to the Tertiary Education Management Conference Gala Dinner in Melbourne. Alive Technologies handled the AV requirements on the night with a quality system for the various requirements and performing acts.

The main stage was setup with 14 x Nexo Geo S8’s (flown 7 per side) and 3 x Nexo CD12’s graced the stage floor. Alive Technologies FOH Engineer Caleb Doherty was a big fan of the system. “The S8 is quite amazing when considering power vs. space. It gave us very clear output and full coverage in a 40m room with no effort”.

At the front of house an SD8 was used to handle the various MC’s, presenters and bands that performed. Caleb has been a long-time user of the SD8 and was very pleased with its performance on the night. “The SD8 is great. It’s the easiest desk to use and on the night, the band rolled up late so we skipped sound check. I got the 15 piece band going in 3 minutes using the SD8, you could never do that with an analog desk. The touch screen menus make everything so direct and easy and re-arranging outputs are too easy; and it sounds brilliant”. The event was extremely successful and we’re sure we’ll be hearing more from the guys at Alive Technologies and their future events.
