Melbourne Museum is currently exhibiting ‘Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs’, a mind blowing display of artefacts from Tutankhamun’s tomb direct from Egypt. Kieran Lang, Melbourne Museum’s regular technical assistant, utilised the help of Optical Audio to configure and install the AV for the event.
The acoustic challenges in a museum can be numerous as Kieran explains. “I’ve been working with Melbourne Museum for a long time. It’s a difficult environment, lots of concrete walls and glass cabinets.” With the venue holding such a major event, it was critical to get the sound right so Kieran opted for a Nexo rig which included 6 x Nexo Geo S12’s flown 3 per side, as well as 4 x PS15R2’s for delay (all from Optical Audio).
The room’s sound was exceptional and Kieran received positive feedback from all. “The Client said it sounded fantastic. They were impressed with the clarity of the system especially considering the venue. They had heard the same exhibition on many setups before but felt the Nexo’s sounded brilliant.”
