Five Star Sound At The Ville

Located on the Townsville breakwater, The Ville Resort-Casino in North Queensland boasts magnificent views of Magnetic Island and the Coral Sea. Offering an array of entertainment, dining and hotel facilities, The Ville has become a modern icon of Townsville’s award-winning beachfront.

Recently completing a multimillion-dollar redevelopment, The Ville has invested in a myriad of new loudspeaker systems to contemporise its building-wide integrated audio setup. Among the newly added systems, are a host of NEXO and Quest Engineering loudspeakers.

The Ville’s primary event space, The Pavilion, is home to NEXO’s immersive audio specialist, the ID24. Strategically placed across the roof beams, the ID24 loudspeakers are perfectly suited to providing precision audio for a wide range of event applications- including weddings, corporate functions, performance and more. Sonically pristine, high-powered and compact, the ID24 offers an impressive max SPL of 126dB whilst weighing only 6kg.

Completing The Pavilion’s sound system are several of NEXO’s PS10 loudspeakers, taking on Front of House duties and horizontal fill duties. A favourite of NEXO’s previously flagship- but still very much sought-after- point source loudspeaker series, the PS10 is still being installed in venues across the world thanks to the ingenuity underpinning its design. Featuring a unique cabinet architecture and sophisticated control electronics, the PS10 offers reliable, linear operation at a superb power-to-weight ratio.

Situated throughout the rest of the complex are an abundance of Quest Engineering’s MX801 high-fidelity loudspeakers. Weatherproof and installation-friendly, thanks to an innovative mounting system, the MX801 has become a favourite of installers seeking full range audio capabilities, without the need to compromise on aesthetics. Making opportune use of the MX801’s optional white finish, the loudspeakers can be seen lining the resort’s corridors, Splash bar, and many of the lawned and paved areas setup for outdoor events.

The MX series was designed to aid integrators in achieving full coverage of desired areas, whilst not breaking budget; leading them to become a common sight in venues all over Australia. Their sleek, architecture-compatible cabinet designs are often relied upon to help blend them into their environment; however, integrators at The Ville have taken a different approach with some of these speakers. Mounted on prominent corners of the Splash bar, the white MX801s create focal points across the bar’s facade, reinforcing the area’s ‘entertainment’ locus.

Thanks to the globally renowned audio quality of NEXO, together with Quest Engineering’s reliable, efficient designs, The Ville Resort-Casino has ensured its redevelopment packs not only visual impact, but an impressive sonic impact worthy of such a world-class experience.

Is the top box just a spacer to get it under the light? Slick cabling btw. So neat.

Man I’ve missed the AV banter
