Lensys Professional headphones are a closed-back, over-ear system ideal for working on all categories of audio content. They join the Clear MG Professional and Listen Professional within Focal’s Pro Audio headphone range, meeting the needs of sound engineers, musicians and creators. Equally at home in the studio or out on the road, Lensys Professional are innovative, precise and deliver a highly natural tonal balance.
Developed around Focal’s patented ‘M’-shaped Aluminium/Magnesium drivers, Lensys Professional headphones are crafted in the French manufacturer’s own Saint-Etienne workshops, where every part has been optimized for performance: from the cushion depth, to the thickness and type of materials enveloping the drivers, and, of course, the composite material of the driver itself- every part a contributor to the system’s superior quality.
Focal engineers chose a 40mm electrodynamic driver with an ‘M’-shaped dome, an exclusive innovation, that allows for incredibly precise sound reproduction. Aluminium is used to increase the dome’s rigidity and greatly reduce distortion, while magnesium helps to ensure excellent damping. Thanks to this combination of materials, the driver delivers deep bass, accurate high frequencies, and crystal-clear midrange. Meanwhile, the ‘M’ shape of the dome achieves exceptional rigidity for a linear frequency response and improved sound dispersion. The drive unit components are angled within the earcups to enhance stereo imaging, while the acoustic load is optimized to deliver performance similar to that of a bass-reflex loudspeaker, for low-end extension.
Since comfort is a necessity for professionals using headphones in lengthy sessions, Focal has paid close attention to this aspect when designing the Lensys Professional system. Lightweight, at only 306g, the headphones feature high-quality, long-lasting materials, including memory foam earpads to provide a comfortable fit and excellent isolation from external noise. The solid yet flexible headband is covered with a breathable fabric, ideal for over-the-head wear, ensuring the headphones provide optimal comfort when worn over long periods of time.
