RCF Introduces RDShape System Design Platform

Italian manufacturer RCF has expanded its system optimisation prowess with the release of RDShape, a dedicated 3D system designer and prediction platform for audio setups, developed for TT+ Audio loudspeakers and RCF touring systems. Designed for live sound professionals, system engineers and venue designers, the software combines acoustic simulation, mechanical validation and deployment planning within a single workflow.

Built for both touring and fixed-install applications, RDShape enables users to create detailed venue models, position loudspeaker systems in three-dimensional space and evaluate SPL and frequency response coverage prior the commencing builds. The platform supports complete 3D venue visualisation, including audience plane modelling and IR-based virtual microphone measurements, allowing engineers to assess performance throughout the listening area.

A key feature of the platform is its integrated ‘AutoSplay’ functionality, which automatically calculates inter-element line array angles based on target SPL and coverage requirements. Engineers can also configure subwoofer arrays and evaluate low-frequency behavior using ‘virtual microphones’ and built-in processing tools. Additional tuning options include modelled FiRPHASE filters, Bass-Shaper controls and EQ presets for more detailed system optimisation.

RDShape also integrates mechanical and rigging analysis directly into the design process. Users can review fly bar strength, pick-up points, weight distribution and load data while generating installation-ready documentation for deployment.

The software’s workflow is geared towards fast deployment and iterative system design. Engineers can import data for a variety of starting points, use integrated venue templates or build custom environments from scratch, while drag-and-drop sound source placement and linked symmetry functions streamline large-scale array configuration. Real-time adjustments to loudspeaker position, atmospheric conditions and processing parameters immediately update SPL and frequency response predictions, allowing rapid comparison between deployment scenarios.

Compatibility with RDNet further extends the platform from virtual simulation to live system management. RDNet provides real-time monitoring, control and optimisation tools for RCF systems, creating a workflow that bridges predictive modelling and on-site system tuning.

RCF has also confirmed compatibility with Ok-Sound’s On-Axis iOS application, enabling audience area measurements to be exported directly into RDShape’s native format. The platform is available for both Windows and macOS systems.
