Before the devastating floods in Queensland, Brisbane had a great atmosphere and was a real place to party. We wish them all the very best and trust that they’ll soon get the city back to normal. This article is dedicated to them.
Along the banks of the Brisbane River in the heart of the Brisbane CBD, the River Life Adventure Centre set the scene for Brisbane’s last party of 2010; the comically named ‘BLAH BLAH BLAH Boutique Music Festival’. With four stages, a lineup of both national and international acts including The Freestylers, Beardy Man, The Funkoars, Freq Nasty, Digitalism, Koolism, The Cuban Brothers and many more. Several thousand were in attendance and they didn’t hold back making Blah Blah Blah 2010 a huge success.
Twisted Pair Productions were the chosen production crew for the gig and being long standing fans of a winning combination, they setup the four stages with Nexo, Camco, RCF and Quest kit.
Each of the stages was comprised of the following:

Geoff Pollitt from Twisted Pair was faced with some unique configuration challenges due to the obscure landscape that surrounded the staged areas as he recalls. “We had 4 stages spread over a space of only 130m long and 30m wide, with a 20m cliff face on one side and the Brisbane River on the other. Due to this unique layout, a lot of careful consideration was put into the direction and design of the systems being used on each stage to ensure that very strict sound level restrictions were met. By ground stacking the GeoS12’s on the 2 main stages we were able to considerably contain the spill between stages.” Blah Blah Blah’s band stage FOH Engineer was extremely impressed with the sound of the Camco amplifiers also. “Our FOH engineer on the band stage said that he had never heard our subs sound as good as they did while being powered by the Camco’s.”
Geoff and his team were extremely pleased with the accuracy and control of the Nexo system. “All of our team members were amazed at the clarity of the sound across all 4 stages. They were all within such close proximity yet still met the very stringent noise restrictions.”
Geoff was also a big fan of how easily the equipment could be configured by some of his younger and less experienced lads. “One of our new team members who had limited use and knowledge of the NX amps before the event had no trouble altering the settings during the festival. It was very easy for him to use.”
