The Venue at The Houghton, an elegant new hotel which recently opened in Johannesburg, is the ideal location for corporate events and functions. Businessman Tony Raciti owns The Venue Melrose Arch and The Venue Green Park, and The Venue Houghton is his latest project, a joint collaboration with the stylish and well positioned hotel. This multi-purpose space is easily transformed into a banquette, cocktail event, conference room or business lounge and DWR Distribution were proud to supply Quest mobile speakers to accommodate the versatile environment.

“Tony Raciti always explains his vision and I have the opportunity to work with the technical team to make it happen, Tony is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to tech, this makes it a lot easier to deliver exactly what is needed.”

Kyle Robson of DWR

The Venue Houghton offers in-house coordinators, dedicated technical staff and state-of-the-art technology as well as an outstanding catering service. Complimented with the landscaped gardens and the Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, it is able to cater for up to 550 guests.

“The mobile Quest system, comprising of six QM450A lightweight Active 12″ Loudspeakers and four QM600ASi active and lightweight 15″ subs, were selected for quick ‘pop up’ and can be used by the crew for the many different types of events that come their way from normal speeches to DJs and bands, The system included castors for the QM600ASi subs as well as protective covers for the entire system”

Kyle Robson of DWR

The Quest brand is designed and built in Melbourne Australia. The QM450A is the first speaker to utilize the Hybridtec system and delivers a full 450W RMS output. It has a birch plywood timber chassis designed to deliver optimal linearity in its passive form.

The QM600ASi sub is equally at home for live touring use or for a permanent installation. It is suitable for mid to high sound pressure level bass and sub bass as a stand-alone unit, in combination with the QM450A, or as part of a multi-way system. This solid bass system can be crossed over for electronic music or projecting a live “kick” into any space. With 131dB Max SPL, it’s a professional and hardworking active sub bass.

Kyle concludes,

“Having worked in the hospitality industry for over thirty years, Tony and his team have the know how to make each function one to remember and it is always a privilege for me to work alongside them.”
