Fresh from NEXO’s first ever ‘virtual launch’ event, come two exciting new additions to the manufacturer’s renowned ID series of loudspeakers. The ID14 and ID S108 were debuted via a live stream led by NEXO’s own Sales & Marketing, R&D and Engineering Support directors.
Aimed at providing immersive audio in even the most complex environments, the ID14 is the smallest cabinet ever made by NEXO, and features a new compact coaxial 4” speaker design. The system’s custom-designed driver, including a 1.3” voice coil for the 4” LF component and a 1.4” diaphragm for the HF motor, delivers smooth, clean sound with an impressive size-to-power ratio.
The ID14 can be installed horizontally or vertically, whilst keeping visual impact on architectural and environmental design to an absolute minimum. The rear of the cabinet includes 2 x M6 inserts for connection to the ID-WM01 or ID-WB02 accessories for wall-mounting, and a threaded M10 on each side allows it to be used with a dedicated U-bracket, or even on a microphone stand.
Like its larger counterpart, the ID24, the ID14 features a lightweight, weather-resistant polyurethane cabinet which provides the system comprehensive protection from the elements. The ID14 is available in two different directivities, offering either 100°x100° or 90°x140° HF dispersion. For each horn setup, a dedicated profile is available on NEXO’s NXAMP powered controller, to ensure accurate coverage at any frequency.
The ID S108 is a lightweight sub cabinet designed as the perfect complement to the ID14 system. The ID S108 features a long excursion 8” Neodymium driver, precisely tuned to match the frequency response of the ID14, enabling the two to form a compact, 3-way full-range system. The S108 offers mounting options through a comprehensive range of accessories via its M10 threaded inserts.
Both the ID14 and ID S108 are available in touring and installation versions, which share the same acoustic components but differ in grille and connectors. The installation version features an acoustic cloth front grille, and a cable gland including a 2-core cable for audio input, ensuring an IP55 protection rating. The touring version features a highly corrosive resistant, Magnelis steel front grille, and a rear plate holding 2 x Speakon connectors. Both versions are available in black, white and custom RAL colours on request.
