Jay Productions & Events is a Sydney-based production company with a focus on live touring, high-end corporate functions, expos and weddings. Regularly providing comprehensive combinations of audio, lighting, staging, rigging and production management, Jay Productions is often toted as a ‘one stop’ events house. Known for their exhaustive loadouts and technological prowess, it came as no surprise when Jay Productions were among the first events companies in Australia to acquire a DiGiCo Quantum 338, following the console’s launch in 2020.

Taking a highly adaptive approach to recent global events, Jay Productions spent much of last year offering streaming production packages, including cameras & lighting, digital streaming platforms, and live audio, where the Quantum 338 began playing a critical role.

With the Quantum 338 now fully integrated into their day-to-day workflow, Jason Ghazal, managing director of Jay Productions, reflects on the impact that DiGiCo’s latest flagship console has had on their production workflow:

“The Quantum 338 provides our team with a comprehensive platform with a huge channel count and the most customizable routing options of any hardware that I’ve seen to date. This means that as our productions grow, we can grow our workflow effortlessly within the DiGiCo environment also. The Nodal Processing has been especially useful, helping us design extensive monitor routing without the need for a separate monitor console.”

With a plethora of new mix and interface features, the Quantum 338 represents a striking step up in connectivity and processing power, making it the most advanced digital mixing desk for live audio currently available. With wide-ranging design enhancements and a modern, sleek aesthetic, the Q338 has begun making its way into the inventories of many top production companies throughout Australia.

Already peak users of DiGiCo’s workhorse SD9 and SD12 consoles- Jay Productions were won over by the Quantum 338’s impressive feature set during a demonstration at a recent Group Technologies Expo.

“When we saw Quantum 338’s Mustard Processing and Spice Rack, we realised there were many fully-featured processing options available to us from within the Quantum engine which could serve as high quality replacements for some of the outboard gear we were running previously. This is a huge time saver and something I don’t think we’re going to be able to live without from now on!”

Having used DiGiCo technology to helm events from the likes of Nike, Vivid Sydney, Moet Chandon, Dior and local government events, Jay Productions have cemented themselves as experts at their craft. Their technical aptitude is matched only by the dexterity of their hardware, with DiGiCo’s Quantum 338 sitting firmly in the driver’s seat.
