February saw Group Technologies host GTX 2024, GT’s leading Audio Technology tradeshow, networking and industry event.
Held at the Group Technologies Training and Demonstration facility in Melbourne, the event was jam-packed with new product releases, demos and brand debuts- inviting industry faces both familiar and new to get up close and personal with the latest gear and brand representatives.
From the massive Live Space to the beautifully appointed Commercial Room, major PA demonstrations from both NEXO and RCF were led by key special international guests, Gareth Collyer and Joe White (NEXO) and Lucio Boiardi Serri (RCF).
GT’s Studio space was full of action, with Roger Roschnik, Switzerland’s PSI Audio CEO, demonstrating the brand’s new AVAA C214 Active Bass Trap technology along with PSI Audio’s industry-leading all-analogue monitors. Microphones and headphones from Austrian Audio were on display, with Kurt Richter over from Vienna to answer everyone’s questions. Demonstrations of the ISOVOX Vocal Booth rounded out activities in the studio.
Over in The Mix Zone, DiGiCo’s new flagship console, the Quantum 852, made its Australian debut. DiGiCo’s Managing Director Austin Freshwater was on hand to answer questions whilst highlighting it’s truly expansive feature set. Likewise, there were demos from NST Audio, with Managing Director Dan Cartman in from the UK to guide attendees through NST’s product offerings. Solutions from Sound Devices, KLANG, Powerwise, and Quest Engineering and Cordial also shared the limelight.
Elektron’s complete catalogue of synths and drum machines were on show at the interactive ‘Just Play’ space, with attendees jamming on both separate listening stations and a dedicated NEXO ID84 PA setup- on which GT’s own David Haberfeld (Honeysmack) provided live electronic music demos exclusively on Elektron gear.
We also had Gary Trenda (Cirque Du Soleil; Super Bowl) of Sound Devices over from the US, presenting RF training throughout the day, featuring the brand’s new Astral family of wireless products.
GT’s well-known flair for hospitality was in full swing, offering a cornucopia of catering, a bustling bar, and an after party going well into the night at nearby venue Joey Smalls.
Group Technologies continues to receive amazing feedback from everyone who attended. GT would like to thank everyone who came to GTX 2024 once more, with special mention of our international and interstate guests. Stay tuned for more photos and videos from the event.
