RCF has been added to the 2016 Melbourne University installation standard. With this decision, preferred installers can now specify two of RCF’s most popular commercial product offerings in to upcoming AV projects for the university.
The first RCF product chosen was the MQ50c high performance ceiling speaker. The MQ50c is a compact, light weight 2-way ceiling monitor loudspeaker ideal for use in any PA systems and background/foreground music systems where high quality sound is required.
The woofer is a high-excursion, PP coated paper cone with a rubber surround, mounted in a tuned enclosure.
The fabric dome tweeter is loaded on a constant Q wave guide to provide natural, smooth sound reproduction on a wide dispersion angle. Installation of the MQ50C is fast and efficient using the built in rotating hooks.
Due to the MQ50c’s lightweight construction, the speaker can be mounted as a conventional ceiling speaker without the need for any additional brackets.
Connections are made to four polar loop thru Euro block male and female to get parallel IN/OUT connection.
Wattage taps and voltage adjustments together with 16-ohm operation are selectable by means of a rotary switch, accessible under the front grill.
The enclosure is constructed of high density UV resistant self-extinguishing polystyrene and includes a protective perforated steel grille.
The back can is made of lightweight aluminium.
The second product included in the standard is RCF’s MQ80P. The MQ80P is an IP55 rated high intelligibility, high efficiency, 2-way horn-loaded sound projector speaker system. It is the ideal solution when clear voice and music reproduction is required in mid-sized indooroutdoor environments.
The woofer is a high-excursion, PP coated paper cone with a rubber surround, mounted in a tuned enclosure. The port can also be sealed for full outdoor installation. The horn-loaded HF compression driver delivers crisp, intelligible vocal, even in wide and noisy environments.
Installation of the MQ80P is quick thanks to the unique bracket with several fixing points.
Connections are made by a multi-pole cable. Wattage taps and voltage adjustments together with 8-ohm operation are selectable by means of a rotary switch, accessible under a sealed cover.
The enclosure is constructed of high density UV resistant self-extinguishing polystyrene with robust steel grill.
We are delighted to see Melbourne Uni adopt RCF into its installation standards and look forward to seeing RCF installed in their upcoming projects.
